 A Black
Austalorp Cock

A Rare Blue Austalorp Hen |
|
|
The Austalorp is a common dual
purpose heavy bodied 7- 8 lbs. bird that was developed in Australia off
of the Orpington. They are excellent calm docile broody winter
hardy layers of large light brown eggs. The standard for color is
black but although very rare they are also found in blue. The
Australorp's soft, shiny black plumage has hints of green and purple in
the sunlight. |
|
We do not
currently breed any Austalorp chickens ourselves and we are currently sold out
of Australorp Chicks. We have more Black Ausrolorp chicks on order with our
supplier but are not sure if we will get them this year or not. If we get
them we plan to keep some to breed for 2009. |
