Saipan Jungle Fowl are not true Jungle Fowl but are a breed of chicken that were carried back to America from the Island of Saipan by service men in the mid 1900's.  They were probably called Jungle Fowl due to the fact that they were a feral bird on the Island and maintained a feral population and were hunted as a food bird.  Sadly they no longer even exist in their homeland of Saipan.  They were probably originally developed off crosses of the  Aseel's of India  and being isolated to the island developed into there own breed.  They are hard feathered with the upright stature, long thick legs, heavy strong breast, long strong neck and broad skull of the Asian game breeds.  They can stand as tall as 3 feet and are very aggressive toward both man and beast.
